Years ago, I had a chance to spend the night at Muhammad Ali’s home. Pretty awesome, right? I was able to put on the gloves he wore in the “Thrilla in Manila” and also wear the “Gold Belt” he won for being the World Champion. I too felt like a “champion” in that moment.
Ali would always say “I am the greatest,” then he would go out and truly live into that statement. How often are you bold enough to say “I am the greatest,” and then go out to back it up in everything you do?
What is more fun? Living an average life, or one filled with excitement and greatness? Who chooses this for you?
These perhaps are a lot of questions that only you can answer for yourself.
When I played professional tennis, I sometimes would have one of Muhammad Ali’s sayings going on in my head, over and over again – such as, “float like a butterfly and sting like a bee.”
This helped me stay light on my feet when my legs were getting heavy from the nerves and pressure of the match.
Many of us tend to weigh ourselves down from the burdens of our challenges.
Next time you feel the weight of the world on your shoulders, simply “float like a butterfly and sting like a bee,” and win your own “championship” within your life.
